Cremation is becoming more socially accepted by families who once opted for a traditional burial and many religions are accepting cremation as an alternative to a burial. Cremation can also be an economic decision, for families. People are becoming more educated in their options when a death has occurred and realize that cremation is the final disposition, just like a burial is the final disposition. This means the same type of services are available for cremation, such as, a traditional cremation, a memorial service with body present, memorial service without body presence or a direct cremation (no services). Because of people rethinking cremation as the final disposition, half of American choose cremation as the final disposition for their loved one.
